MUNICH, GERMANY
A COUNTRY OF DREAMS!
NUREMBERG, GERMANY by Glenn Arnette, lll
In 1957 there was a birth of its millionth inhabitant and in 1972 it was the site of the Olympic Summer Games. Can you name this City?
The City of Munich, capital of the Free State of Bavaria, is located close to the Bavarian Alps in the south of Germany and the center of Europe. You can travel by rail, air and car to most of the other great cities of Europe without days of travel or hours that take away from your vacation dreams. Then you can boat your way on the River Isar that runs approximately 10 miles through the city.
The Baroque architecture of the city is the most Italianate of German cities but also displays its Gothic Renaissance and Rococo past, with flourishes of Classical, Art, Nouveau and Contemporary styles.
With Munich, Germany has become one of the most popular vacation countries in all of Europe. The shopping offers Haute couture, department and chain stores, trendy and flamboyant clothes, Bavarian local costumes, handicrafts and souvenirs in specialist shops. When it comes to beer, there is Heineken! You can spend the day in a beer hall and let the world pass you by and still find Bavarian dancers and Oompah Bands. What fun!
The best travel comes from Eurail. www.eurail.com
You can purchase a week or two week pass for travel throughout Europe and three or four other countries. It all depends on the length of your stay.
