Bite N Hold Fishing Charters, Stuart Florida
Fishing at the Sailfish Capital of the World

Bite N Hold offers the ultimate in Offshore and Inshore Fishing in Stuart Florida. Known as the Sailfish Capital of the World, a day on the water in search of these majestic fish is bound to be exciting. Captain Nick has been fishing the Florida waters since he was three years old. There are few techniques that he does not know when it comes to both Inshore and Offshore fishing. You can rely on him to find where the fish are biting and it is up to you to “hold them.” Capt. Nick has two boats. A Bluewater Sportfishing 2550 with twin Yamaha 150 Four strokes, fully equipped with Furono Navnet electronics including Radar which he uses for Offshore fishing. Inshore he uses a custom 18’ Permit Flats boat with 115 Four Stroke Yamaha. If you want to go after the “big ones” it is usually an all-day outing. Because there is less travel time involved for the relatively close in-shore fishing, clients can reserve a morning or afternoon excursion.

For those who choose to venture out of the protected harbor into deeper water, they may expect to encounter Dolphin, Sailfish, Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo, Kingfish, Amberjack, Tilefish and Swordfish. Closer in to shore you may find Snook, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Pompano and Tarpon. For those looking for fly fishing for snook or other smaller species Capt. Nick ties his own flies before each trip depending on the targeted species and the time of year. If there are fish in the area, you can depend on Capt. Nick to find them. He will even take clients fishing at night if this is their preference. Each species demands a different style of fishing and Capt. Nick knows them all. He will arrange a charter to fit your wildest fishing dreams.

We did not have a lot of time so we opted for some inshore casting along the mangrove studded shores. We used live bait which Capt. Nick netted before we left the harbor. We did not catch any “whoppers” but then we did not expect to. We will leave the big ones for another day when we have more time.

Capt. Nick is also available for sunrise and sunset cruises, birdwatching and picnic cruises. Although we were definitely not looking for birds while fishing, we noticed that an osprey was watching us from the very top of a fir tree. When we were least expecting it, he swooped down and grabbed a fish off my line. Technically, I guess, I caught a bird, even if it was for just a few seconds. The whole adventure was great fun.

For an exciting day of fishing and an all-around good time, you just can't do any better than venture out with Capt. Nick.
