The Ultimate Golf Learning Experience

The Biltmore Golf Club, adjacent to the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, was first opened in 1925. It was designed by world renowned golf course architect, Donald Ross and it was the first part of the Biltmore complex to be open. It has been recently re-done and today, it is a 6,800-yard, 18-hole, par-71 championship course that is open to the public. The course provides preferred daily tee times for hotel guests. There is also a fully equipped clubhouse, restaurant and bar and one of the largest driving/practice areas in the southeast. It is ideal for a memorable Miami golf vacation.
Total Performance Golf (TPG) is the newest method used by the Biltmore staff of professionals to help golfers improve their game. It is designed to provide players with the ultimate golf learning experience. Using trained physical therapists, fitness trainers, golf swing instructors and biomechanists, this new method allows both professional and amateur golfers to improve their game by learning how to incorporate their entire body into achieving the most effective swing. Since no two players are exactly equal in strength, dexterity or co-ordination, the Biltmore’s team of professionals work with each individual to perfect their game according to their personal abilities. This approach helps to improve not only the golf game, but the long-term wellness of each student. An initial evaluation helps them to determine which parts of the body need to be strengthened and what can be done to maximize a players strong points.
Swing technique and style are as individual and unique as a player’s fingerprints. TPG uses a three-dimensional image of your golf swing, including all the rotational speeds of your body. This provides a precise picture of what is happening during your swing. They can then match your swing technique with your physical attributes to help you build a more repeatable and efficient golf swing.
Factors such as strength, flexibility, balance, endurance, nutrition, vision and posture all influence the body’s mechanics. Using these key factors, the TPG system is able to isolate any physical limitations and correlate these findings to your swing technique and prescribe a customized conditioning program.
Proper equipment is a vital component to developing a repeatable technique. The best players in the world rely on fitting specialists to ensure that their equipment matches their abilities. The TPG team will evaluate your golf ball and club requirements and provide fitting recommendations.
The first step in beginning this program is to undergo a swing evaluation by one of the Biltmore’s teaching professionals. Next, a basic physical screening is given to determine if there are any physical issues that need to be addressed. The program after the first two steps is on an individual basis according to the physical attributes and the goals o the player. This program can run from several days for hotel guests, to several weeks and more for residents who live near the course.
Justin Bruton, the program director is a certified golf professional/biomechanist. He works with the rest of the team to make your golf game the best it can be.
