The Las Vegas Monorail System

The Quick Way to Navigate Las Vegas

Anyone who has visited Las Vegas knows that you can spend a lot of time walking from one Casino to the next. Using the recently opened Las Vegas Monorail, you can get from one end of the strip to the other in air conditioned comfort without traffic worries.

The Monorail is a driverless rail system that runs along the east side of the Las Vegas Strip from the MGM Grand to the Sahara hotel, stopping at four other Casinos and the Convention Center along the way. The Monorail operates from 7 a. m. until 2 a.m. (3.a.m. on weekends.) It travels at a speed of approximately 50 miles per hour and trains arrive at each station every 4 to 12 minutes. The entire route takes 15 minutes.

You can catch a ride at almost any time of the day or night. When the desert heat hits the Strip or thunderstorms soak the city, you can cruise in climate controlled style. When the morning and evening commuter traffic slow street traffic to a crawl, you can zip to your destination. Late at night you can safely and quickly return to your hotel without venturing onto the street. The Monorail leaves directly from the hotel and travels the 3.9 mile strip to deposit you at your destination.

The Las Vegas Monorail Company is currently in the planning stages of a proposed expansion to McCarran International Airport which would help deliver Las Vegas visitors directly to the Strip.

Single ride tickets for the Monorail are $5.00. A One Day Pass is $13 and a Three Day Pass is $28.
