Thailand II - Return of The Waster!

Well!! Being back in Thailand again was a great feeling and well I haven't been dissapointed since being back......although staying near Khao San Road and undertaking Muay Thai Boxing isn't a good mix!!! Sleep is the problem if i'm completely honest....and the lack of it!!! Now I know why Andy and Alicia tried to get me to do it in Pai....because you can get some peace and quiet after you've been punching/kiciking the hell out of the punchbags and trainers (sort of!)
It was really kewl to get away from Bangkok straight away which I decided would be a grand idea and went to a cool Island called Ko-Chang to relax before the Muay Thai and that's exactly how I felt.....It was pissing down with rain nearly everyday but I didn't give a toss.....I'M IN THAILAND AND LOVE IT!!! I met some cool people there (Yeah i'm a lucky git indeed) who were extremely chilled out and I felt the same too.
Most days, because the weather was so bad, we'd literally just chill otu at the restaurant/bar area and this was fine either talking about what we've been upto or either reading a book and just generally having a nice time to reflect and relax with no constant pressure for ANYTHING!!! AWESOME!!
Even the craziest night we had was chilled out!! It was a case of spontaneuity in that everyone in our taxi was dropped off at different hotels but we all somehow managed to fish out a good place to eat and drink and we were all there somehow and sat around a table without calling or emailing each other. Sometimes the best days are best left unarranged...it's so much fun!!!
So, basically, 15 odd people sat around a table.....what the hell do you expect to happen? Tea and scrumpets?!??! HELL NO! We all got fucked and it was still chilled out and teh Mojito buckets were flowing and everyone having a great time! Although, I was soooooooo wasted that basically I lost my key and my mates knew about this and offered to let me sleep on their floors but I decided to rough it and sleep on my hut's porch....Did I mention it was one of the coldest nights EVER!??!?!
What happened next??!! after much deliberation and my nuts turning to Icicles, I decided that sleeping behind the bar would be the best bet (rational thought whilst drunkeness = IMPOSSIBLE!!) and well this hotel I was staying at was animal friendly and all night they were crawling all upon me and scratching me up to mark me as their bed and sleeping on top of me!!!! I woke up the next morning with a confused looking Thai barman wondering what the hell happened!!! Out of sheer kindness, the owner wrapped me up in blankets and fixed my lock within half an hour.....and didn't charge me! (out of pity I guess!)
And also I fell off a motorbike on the top of a step hill, pissing down again, trying to avoid a car and thankfully, both me and my friend were in tact! Although, 5 minutes later a lorry driver hit the hillside roughly 10 meters from where we fell down the hillside...TWICE! Motorbikes suck...FACT!
Right now, i've been in Bangkok for 2 weeks and well enjoyed it. I have sinned since my Muay Thai stint (with party time YAAAAAAAAAH!!!) which I know is bad but Muay Thai is punishment enough for ANYONE!! The trainers don't bullshit you, they will let you know if you're not hitting their pads hard enough or they know they can "unleash the dragon" from you . They're pretty bloody good trainers....and probably the best. I've been training with one of the most famous Gym's in Thailand...Sor Vorapin. The current male champion is training in the gym i'm in right now...enough said!
Although Muay Thai is about a lot of things, you realise quick enough that the harder you can hit the more impressed with you they are. So since i've been hitting with my sprained wrist i've gotten a slight bit more respect, not alot but a bit more. They couldn't give a toss about whether you can't punch with your right hand or anything else.....you've still got the rest of your limbs, so you can still train!!! I really like this attitude and makes you fell more ballsy then anything. I thank Andy and Alicia for persuading me to go through with this...I'm hoping to take this back to England!
So I near my end to Asia and well Thailand holds a special place in my heart. I hope the current government situation here subsides and that they continue to live on as amazing and happy people they are. I'm finding it really hard to comprehend i'm leaving here on tuesday for Oz but I guess all good things come to an end sometimes and well I'm going to have to let go....for the time being!! Thanks Thailand for being so good to me and allowing me to meet all the brilliantly good people I have. In the words of Terminator, "I'LL BE BACK"!!!
