We started with a visit to the historic Bonaventure Cemetery. We walked through the beautifully kept grounds between the old moss laden oaks while our guide related fascinating tales of those in residence. One story in particular was a little spooky. It seems that a small doll placed on a grave was often moved and hidden within the cemetery, but it always returned to its original place by the next morning. Our guide told us that she had tried this and hidden the doll deep within a bush on the other side of the cemetery and sure enough, it was back on the gravesite by morning.

When we visited the tourist area along the river, I had the definite feeling that we were the center of attraction. I certainly felt like a celebrity.
