Quebec Resorts and Country Inns
The Very Best of Quebec

Quebec Resorts is a network of 25 Country Inns and resorts located in all eleven regions of Quebec. They have been selected because they meet the highest standards in terms of comfort and quality for everything from accommodations and cuisine to the activities offered in each area and each season.
The entire Quebec area is a true “theater of seasons” and offers the visitor a variety of activities and an unmatchable visual experience at any time of year. Each of the Inns enjoys a proximity to nature which offers rustic charm and a cozy atmosphere that can only be found in small villages and rural settings.
Gastronomy is a Quebec trademark and each of the Inns operates a fine dining facility. Menus vary according to the season and the region. Specialties include Guinea Fowl Supreme from the Richelieu valley, Charlevoix veal, Medallion of Boileau Deer and the famous Brome Lake Duck.
Staying at a Country Inn goes beyond booking a room. Whether your idea of a perfect vacation includes a daily therapeutic massage, downhill or cross-country skiing, horseback riding, biking, challenging golf, canoeing on one of the many lakes, the unique thrill of aerial zip-lining over the Laurentian forests or a quiet walk in the woods, you will find a Quebec Country Inn nearby.
As a visitor to a diverse area, you are not confined to one Inn. Many tourists, especially those who have traveled a long distance to experience the numerous splendors of Quebec, prefer to move from Inn to Inn over a period of several weeks. Many of the Inns are within easy driving distance of each other and yet the topography and activities may vary considerably.
My personal journey to Quebec was to view the spectacular Fall foliage which I did from horseback, a canoe, bicycling, and a zip-line through the red, yellow and orange treetops. Noticeably absent was the bumper to bumper traffic that pervades many of the roads through Maine and Vermont at this time of year.
At one point we parked our car and boarded the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield Steam Train for a scenic 64 kilometer trip along the Gatineau river. This venerable old steam train is the last excursion steam train still active in Canada. Leaving from the city of Hull/Gatineau, directly across the river from Ottawa, the train winds its scenic way along the river for an hour-and-a-half before it reaches the charming village of Wakefield.
Passengers may spend a leisurely two hours on a guided tour of the town or do as we did and stay for several days in the area before returning. We spent a delightful two days at the Wakefield Mill Inn where we dined on gourmet food overlooking the cascading 28 foot waterfall at the back of the Inn.
It is virtually impossible not to enjoy Quebec.
